Global warming has changed the way we travel, perhaps forever. Eco-conscious travellers are buying carbon credits to offset the environmental costs of flying while others are forgoing air travel and staying at home, or travelling shorter distances.
But what about doing without the guilt and taking a carbon-neutral holiday? Whistler is one of the world's greenest destinations, a perfect place to put the new eco-ethos into practice. On a recent four-day trip to the home of the 2010 Winter Olympics, we burnt as little fossil fuel as humanly possible. See how we did it, by rail, by river, by foot and by bike.
