The world's largest candy store is set to open in Dubai, in one of world's largest malls. Apparently the Gulf Arab region's hunger for candy has been growing over the last few years. So, if you have a sweet tooth you know where to vacation.

If you're hungry, but candy's not your thing, this article chronicling the booming fusion-dining industry in Vancouver should wet your appetite. From the Chinese New Year festival Gung Haggis Fat Choy dinner, where Scottish haggis is combined with dim sum dumplings, to JapaDog, where sausage is mixed with bratwurst, grated daikon, chopped scallions and soy sauce to name one option, Vancouver's got your fusion longings covered.

Back in August Philosopher Alain de Botton was hired as Heathrow's first writer-in-residence. In the Guardian de Botton reveals what he uncovered, including the tricks British Airways employees use against rude passengers (fake seat upgrades) and the surprising statistic that two people die in each terminal every week.

The world's strongest man, the man with the biggest mouth and the fastest scooter driver to grace the pavement walk in to a bar. It sounds like a bad joke, but if you're in Vienna this month it could become reality. The city is hosting a series of world record attempts and you can join in, if you want bragging rights to being part of the biggest ever paper plane launching event or cell phone throwing fiesta.
